Sleepwalking is a state of semi-consciousness during which the sleeping person can sometimes sit up, move around and perform actions that he or she won’t remember once awake. This occurs during the deep slow wave sleep phase, in the first few hours after falling asleep. Around 2% of adults also sleepwalk, although the phenomenon tends to become rarer as we age:
