Follow-up with your respiratory therapist specialized in sleep disorders is a very important part of your treatment.
These follow-ups will allow us to monitor the progress of your treatment while ensuring that treatment pressures are adequate, that there are no symptoms related to obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA) and that respiratory events are well controlled.
During this meeting, your respiratory therapist will check the integrity of your device and its proper operation. At the same time, the device data will be downloaded and a summary of the statistics will be presented to you.
Finally, you’ll receive a reminder about maintaining your CPAP, and a renewal of accessories will be considered.
Of course, if you have any questions during the meeting, your respiratory therapist will be happy to answer them.
Following this comprehensive follow-up, a report will be sent to your specialist(s). This report will keep your doctor informed of your treatment. Your respiratory therapist will also be able to make recommendations to optimize treatment, as required.
In our four branches, we offer screening tests and a meeting with a certified respiratory therapist to determine your needs. Screening tests are performed in the clinic, and fees apply.
It is also possible to undergo a laboratory test to qualify your sleep and detect any disorders preventing you from getting the most out of your sleep. During this test, the person simply sleeps. Their sleep is analyzed and scrutinized using various measuring instruments and observation. To do this, the customer must spend a full night at our Saint-Alphonse-de-Granby branch (head office). It’s a highly instructive experience, as it provides a clear indication of the presence and nature of one or more sleep disorders.
